OK...Please respond to this or the email k?

I am getting mixed replies as to whether or not we should meet in December. So I am calling the shot here....please respond to this or to my email! Please just let me know if you want to, or don't want to, do December, I think the theme for the recipe cards is appetizers. Whoever wants to meet will and whoever doesn't won't. No pressure either way. But please respond so those of us that want to do it will know how many recipes to make. And we are going to meet at SubZero for ice cream, since that was suggested and we haven't gone there yet. We will meet on December 9th at 8:00. Does that sound ok?
OK...now go and respond...go .... go ..... go ;)

Serious Yummy

OK...so I admit I felt guilty after everyone showed up with all that yummy-oh food. I really could and should have done the treats...but then we started snacking and life was oh so happy!! I am so glad you are sharing recipes. Here's my contribution... (this is what we had that night)

Dana’s Pumpkin Cobbler

1 box yellow cake mix
(set aside 1 c. dry mix)
1/2 c. melted butter
4 eggs
1 lg. can pumpkin (29 oz.)
2/3 c. brown sugar
1/4 c. milk
2 tsp. vanilla
2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 c. soft butter
1/4 c. sugar
1 c. chopped pecans

Combine yellow cake mix (minus 1 cup), 1/2 cup butter and 1 egg.
Then pat into 9x13 inch pan.
FILLING: Combine pumpkin, 3 eggs, brown sugar, milk, vanilla,
and cinnamon. Pour over crust.
TOPPING: 1 cup cake, 1/4 cup butter, 1/4 cup sugar, nuts,
(may use a little more butter). Mix together, sprinkle over top
of filling. Bake at 350 degrees for 40 to 50 minutes.
Chill and serve with Cool Whip or vanilla ice cream.

Here's the second request and it really is good. I wish I knew who I got the recipe from but it was in an exchange and there isn't a name on the back...

Sweet Potato Casserole

3 c. sweet potatoes mashed (canned yams work)
1 c. sugar
1 stick margarine
2 eggs (beaten)
1 t. vanilla
½ c. raisins (optional)
1 c. mini marshmallows
Mix all ingredients and pour into a buttered casserole dish.

Topping:
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. chopped pecans
1 c. flour
1 stick margarine melted
Mix all ingredients and sprinkle on top of potatoes.
Bake at 350 for 20-30 minutes.

Oh and by the way... are we meeting in December or is that just madness?

Recipe Call

Okay -- so there were LOTS of yummie-licious things at Tiffanys - too many to name - I know we already are doing a swap, but I want the recipe's for:

Tiffany's Pumpkin Cheesecake thing (and the sweet potato casserole)

Tanya's corn puff melt-in-your-mouth happiness

Jenn's caramel apples (more just the instructions)

okay? Thanks!

And Camie - you wanted the buttermilk pie recipe so here goes:

*1 unbaked pie shell (frozen) ((I use Marie Callenders -they come in a 2 pack in the frozen sect.))
*3 eggs
*1 1/2 C. sugar
*2 level tbsp. flour
*1 C. buttermilk
*1 tsp. vanilla
*1 stick butter - melted

Mix flour and sugar. Blend in beaten eggs, then melted butter. Add buttermilk and vanilla- blend until smooth. Pour into unbaked pie shell and bake at 350 until brown - about an hour(sometimes more). I usually add a pie shell (or whatever it's called) around my crust so it doesn't burn. The pie will seem very soggy and under-done. You may have to insert a knife halfway through the cooking to let out some air. If at the end, the knife comes out with some pie on it, that's fine, but if it's still liquid leave it in. The top will seem like it's getting REALLY brown, but it's fine. I love it served warm, but cold is just fine too.

Card Club Wednesday the 12th

OK. Here is the deal.
We are meeting at Tiffany's house...
Wednesday, November 12th
at 8 or 8:30....Tiffany, will you comment on what time you want to start ;)

Bring either 3 tags for each gal or 1 card for each gal. There are, as of right now, 15 gals.

If you want to do the countdown board, you will need to bring the following

A regular size clipboard, I got mine at Staples for about $1.50. You will need to take off the clip part, and it will make it so there are 2 holes in the top of the board. I just pried them off with a butter knife. Then paint it a color to match whatever paper you are going to use. I would do all of this before Wednesday.

I used one piece of 12 x 12 double sided heavy paper. It needs to be like that heavy scrapbook paper, not the thin stuff. It will rip too easy if it is thin. That was all I needed to cover the board, but I only covered the front, so if you want to cover the back, you will need to use 2 pieces. You will also need about 2 pieces of 2 different colored 12 x 12 plain colored cardstock to do the numbers with.

Embellishments, I picked up stickers, buttons, ribbon, ricrac, whatever I thought would look good with my paper. I also picked up some of those chipboard numbers and letters that are sparkly to do the words and numbers with. They are on sale right now at Robert's and For Every Scrapbook. I can bring my cricket too if any of you would like to use it.

Modge Podge, which I have quite a bit of, but if any of you have some, please bring it so we will have enough, some spongy brushes. I have some of those too.

Ribbons to match your paper to slip through the holes to hang it from.

Let me know if that doesn't make sense. Sorry I am not as good as Tiffany and have it all put together for you. I just thought that everyone might want to pick out their own paper and stuff to match their decor.

Note....I will be late to club this time. It is my boy's football party, so I will be there as soon as it is over. Camie, my sis, is coming to make hers on Monday at my house, and then she is going to show everyone how to get started on Wednesday. These boards are so stinking easy. And pretty quick. And they are so fun, because if you mess up, you just cover it up with something else. The joys of Modge Podge.

November Card Swap...

OK...here's the deal. I posted this little countdown thing on my blog last month,
and I have had a couple of gals say they would like to do Christmas ones at our next swap, which is next week! Who would like to do one? They are super easy, and pretty quick. And here's the other little glitch, would anyone like to host it? I would, but I am having Thanksgiving here this year, and it is slightly freaking me out, so I don't know if I could handle the stress level ;) And I think we are up to 15 gals now.....so fun!
