So we will see you all in January...

The poll was unanimous .... we will skip meeting in December and meet in January. So plan on the third Thursday in January. We will trade recipes and cards, and we will meet at Brick Oven in Provo.
I was hoping to see everyone before Christmas, but we are all so busy. I hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas and that everyone can be healthy and happy. You are all some of my best friends and I so love to be you at least once a month! Have a wonderful Holiday Season! Love you gals!!!

To meet or not to meet.....

Okay...I have a question. We never really decided on a specific date for December. It was tentatively the 10th, but never confirmed. And another question ... do we want to skip December and do dinner in January and do cards and recipes then? I have had some say they would like to still meet in December and some that they don't....so......I am posting a poll on the right sidebar...please mark which you would like to do.
The poll will be open until the 6th.

It's amazing what a little "New Moon Drink" can turn you in to.
We found Cami in the Bar getting a "Bite" to eat before New Moon. Now you can have whiter fangs in just ten minutes for the low price of $4.00

Just not Chili's with out a warm chocolate cake!

Card Swap this Thursday

Update...there are 16 gals doing tags/cards now instead of 15. And instead of Olive Garden...we are going to Chile's in American Fork..they are open until 11 and Olive Garden is open til 10. Soooo...meet at Chile's in American Fork at 9 pm...we will swap tags/cards there, and then head to THE MOVIE!!! WHOOT! We are going to the Thanksgiving Point Theater. I have the tickets and the seats are all reserved...I AM SO EXCITED!

So I have made a decision...I know, SHOCKER!, but we will meet at Olive Garden by Target in American Fork at 9. I know that is kinda late, but since the movie starts at midnight...I think that will be about right. If anyone wants to do something different I'm open to whatever. Will you please post and let me know if you are coming and I will make a reservation for us this time. So excited to see you all, and I will miss everyone that isn't coming.

Hey everyone! So, there are 14 in the group that are doing tags, and Angie is going to do them too, so plan on one card or 3 tags for 15 gals. Scary Movies

K...so I wanted to pick up a few of those movies we talked about the other night...Sarah, would mind posting some of those? Thanks! Celeste

Tuesday, October 20, 2009

Thanks Celeste and Alauna...

Thank you Celeste and Alauna for making a decision!!!
Here is the scoop kids.....
Recipe swap is Thursday, 8pm, at Village Inn by the Lehi Costco! Bring your recipes and we will have fun!!!

Just looking ahead....next month will be cards...so since in the past in November we have made either 1 card for everyone, or 3 gift tags for everyone...I think we should do that again. So in November...make 1 Christmas card or 3 gift tags for everyone.

Then in December...I think we should either go out to dinner or hold a potluck in someone's home. What's your vote? That month will be recipe swap.

I hope everyone is healthy and happy. As far as my house, and I know Camie's and Kim's house, we haven't been too great on the healthy part. Hopefully it will get better!!!

Sunday, October 18, 2009

OKAY...We have a decision to make

This week is our recipe swap! I checked out Archibald's at Gardner Village and they close at 9, so I don't think that would work,,,,even though it would be so stinkin' fun! Any other ideas? I am so idea'd out...where should we meet? Our swap is this Thursday @ 8:00, but we need a place. I hope everyone can come!!!

October Swap...

Hi everyone! I can't wait for October's Swap....I want to see everyone. It's been forever for me!
So I was talking to a couple of the gals, and we came up with this idea for the swap.
Let's do 2 recipe cards..one HALLOWEEN (I just love saying that word) recipe for a HALLOWEEN treat, and one favorite Thanksgiving dish. We want to meet at someone's house like we did last year, and bring a dish of one of the recipe's that you do. Sound good? Does anyone want to offer up their house? And our regular meeting date is over UEA so how does October 22nd sound instead? Let's say 8? Any takers?
Please comment and let us all know whatcha think k?

So tomorrow, I am in my first boutique. I am so nervous, so excited, and feeling so unprepared.

Anyways...it's going to be a great show...a lot of cool stuff. Come and check it out...

Recipe Swap in October

Tanya, we missed you and the rest of the gang last week. We had a good time visiting, and Kami got to see a celebrity, so I'm sure it made her night!!!! I was wondering what everyone would think about doing favorite Thanksgiving dinner recipes for the swap next month...someone suggested pies, but I think it would be fun to expand that idea. What do you think???

Also, the 3rd Thursday is over UEA weekend. Should we move the swap night to either the 2nd Thursday or 4th Thursday, or leave it as-is?

Sunday, September 20, 2009

I miss you!

I miss you guys! How was card club this last week?

I heard that maybe we want to do a Halloween potluck again for our recipe swap next month? Is that true?

Lion House Dinner Rolls Recipe

Lion House Dinner Rolls
2 cups warm water (110 to 115° F)
2/3 cup nonfat dry milk
2 tablespoons active dry yeast
1/4 cup granulated sugar
2 teaspoons salt
1/3 cup butter, shortening, or margarine
1 egg
5 to 5 1/2 cup all-purpose flour or bread flour
1/2 cup butter, melted
In large bowl of an electric mixer, combine water and dry milk powder, stirring until milk dissolves. Add yeast, then sugar, salt, butter, egg, and 2 cups of the flour. Mix on low speed until ingredients are wet. Increase mixer speed to medium and mix for 2 minutes. Add 2 cups flour; mix on low speed until ingredients are wet, then for 2 minutes at medium speed. (Dough will be getting stiff, and remaining flour may need to be mixed in by hand.) Add remaining flour, 1/2 cup at a time, and mix again until dough is soft, not overly sticky, and not stiff. (It is not necessary to use the entire amount of flour.)Scrape dough off sides of bowl and pour about one tablespoon of vegetable oil; work oil all around sides of bowl. Turn dough over in bowl so it is covered with oil. (This helps prevent dough from drying out.) Cover with plastic wrap and allow to rise in warm place until doubled in size, about 1 1/2 hours. Sprinkle cutting board or counter with flour and place dough on floured board. Roll out and shape as desired. Place on greased or parchment-lined baking pans. Cover lightly with plastic wrap. Let rise in warm place until rolls are doubled in size, about 1 to 1 1/2 hours.

Bake at 375° F for 15 to 20 minutes or until browned. Brush with melted butter while hot. Serve with honey butter or raspberry honey butter. Makes 1 1/2 to 3 dozen rolls, depending on shape and size of rolls.
Note: You can freeze shaped rolls for later use. Simply double the amount of yeast used when making dough. After the first rise, shape the rolls but do not rise again. Instead, place rolls on a baking sheet and immediately place in freezer. When dough is frozen solid, remove rolls from pan and place in a plastic bag, squeeze excess air out of bag and seal. Rolls can be frozen for 3 weeks.

Picking Apples

An Apple a Day
If one apple can do you good, how about a whole bushel? Take an apple-picking excursion with your family this fall and enjoy this succulent fruit to the fullest extent! Here are some tips to make your adventure “fruitful”: Location: If you aren’t lucky enough to have your own apple trees, check out allboutapples.com to find an orchard near you. Picking: Apples ripen from the outside of the tree in, so choose apples from the outermost branches. Make sure they are firm and bruise-free. Don’t pull the apple straight from the tree—instead, lift up and give it a little twist. Snacks: Orchards often sell pie, cider, and, of course, apples, but there isn’t much else available, so make sure to bring bagged lunches and drinks. For a fun snack, bring a knife to slice apples, as well as toppings and spreads like caramel and peanut butter. (Did you know? Two pounds of apples make one 9-inch pie.)

The final list I have is this (I haven't been able to get a response from a couple of people so I am assuming that they aren't doing it anymore :( .....

For both recipe cards and regular cards...

Krystal
Missie
Jennifer
Tiffany
Kim
Julie
Christi

For recipe cards only....

I hope I haven't forgotten anyone. This is who has either commented on the blog or emailed me. If you can see someone I have missed please let me know. If not, plan on these gals for every month. Please remember if you can't make it to a swap just send your stuff and we will collect for you!

Please comment here and let me know that you got this message ok?

Looking ahead....remember that swap is the 3rd Thursday every month. Sept. and Nov. will be cards and Oct. and Dec. will be recipe swap. Maybe we can meet and bring our potluck in Oct. or Dec. (and really looking ahead....the 3rd Thursday in Dec. will be nuts so let's plan on doing that one on the 2nd Thursday...that will be Dec. 10th....sound ok?)

UPDATE

Sarah Jensen is only doing the recipe exchange.

and does anyone know if Sarah Jensen and Sarah Lee want to keep doing it?
Am I missing anyone?

Tuesday, August 4, 2009

Hi Everyone!!! ;) Please read this whole post...

I am so excited to see everyone again and catch up on what's been goin' on!!!

So....we voted earlier to have our night on the 3rd Thursday, but this month that falls on the day school starts, sooo.....we decided to do our swap this month on the week after, so.....here are the details!

Our night for August will be
Thursday, August 27th, 8pm, at Julie's house. Thanks Julie!
We will be swapping bbq/picnic recipes, AND cards. Fun huh?
Please bring a sampler of what your recipe is and we will sample each other's stuff. YUM!

Another matter of business...
I have talked this over with a couple of our gals, and they agreed with me, so I think this will be a good idea. Here's the idea...
It is really hard for me every month to try and figure out how many cards/recipes to make, and to let you all know. So here is a new "rule" (for lack of better word)...PLEASE COMMIT ON THIS POST WHETHER YOU ARE IN OR NOT. AND IF YOU ARE STILL IN, WHICH BETTER BE EVERYONE OF YOU, THEN (HERE COMES THE RULE) I THINK WE NEED TO MAKE SURE WE ALL MAKE THE CARDS/ RECIPES FOR EACH MONTH REGARDLESS OF WHETHER WE WILL BE ABLE TO MAKE IT OUT OR NOT. THIS WAY WE WILL MAKE THE SAME AMOUNT OF CARDS/RECIPES EVERY MONTH. THERE WILL BE NO GUESSING, NO TAKING HOME AN ABUNDANT AMOUNT OF THE SAME CARDS WE MADE, AND WE WILL ALL BENEFIT BY HAVING SUCH A VARIETY OF CARDS. IF YOU CAN'T COME, WHICH I HOPE WE CAN ALL BE TO EVERY NIGHT OUT, BUT IF YOU CAN'T MAKE IT, PLEASE JUST MAKE YOUR CARDS/RECIPES AND SEND THEM WITH SOMEONE AND WE WILL COLLECT FOR YOU. THAT WAY YOU GET YOUR GOODS EVEN IF YOU CAN'T BE THERE TOO. I HONESTLY DON'T CARE IF WE HAVE 25 OR MORE IN THE GROUP. I JUST WANT TO KNOW THAT EVERY MONTH THAT'S HOW MANY I WILL MAKE AND THAT'S HOW MANY I WILL RECEIVE. I HOPE YOU ALL AGREE.
SO.......PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE COMMENT ON HERE AND COMMIT, AND IF YOU KNOW ANY GALS THAT DON'T READ THIS BLOG, ASK THEM TO AND ASK THEM TO COMMENT....WHICH IS ONE MORE ITEM OF "BUSINESS".....THIS IS THE BEST WAY FOR US TO ALL COMMUNICATE WITH EACH OTHER, SO PLEASE CHECK THIS BLOG AT LEAST 1-2 TIMES A WEEK.....I WOULD LOVE FOR US TO SHARE WHAT WE ARE DOING OUTSIDE OF MAKING CARDS AND STUFF TOO. LET'S KEEP IN TOUCH! I MISS YOU GALS!!!

Wednesday, June 17, 2009

HI!!

Hey there everyone. Now don't forget to read Alauna's post just below this one.

I am just wondering something.
How would everyone feel about skipping club in July, and then in August we could have a card and recipe swap...but there's a catch. How would you like to make it a potluck....we could do like we did at Halloween, and bring what our recipe is. We could meet at a park, eat, and exchange recipes and cards. Camie and I were thinking of doing a BBQ theme...anything that could go with BBQ. Meats, veggies, desserts, pretty much anything goes.

Whatcha think?

Tuesday, June 16, 2009

Who's coming?

Who is planning on coming to recipe exchange this month?  We are meeting this Thurs. (June 18th) @ 8 p.m.  Let's meet at the Frozen Yogurt Junction in A.F.  (It's half price this Thursday.)

Monday, June 1, 2009

June Recipe Exchange

At card exchange, we talked about what kind of recipes we want to exchange in June.  We thought we should do "30 min. meal" recipes, especially with the summer break.  I just wanted to make sure this works for everyone so that we can start thinking of recipe ideas.

Wednesday, May 20, 2009

Hey Alauna!

Hey Alauna!!!! Which Smith's are we meeting at?

Monday, May 18, 2009

Location for card swap

I was wondering if everyone would be game to meet at Smith's in Lehi.  They have gelato and soft serve ice cream, as well as lots of other great stuff in the deli.  Brie is working that night (at Smith's), and she could take a break to join us.  This might be her last exchange with us because they're moving to Vernal.  They're hoping to move by the middle of next month.

Tuesday, May 12, 2009

OK..gals! Card club is coming soon. Will you please comment and tell us all if you are coming so we know how many cards to make? If you don't comment you might not be counted and I don't want you to miss out!!! ;)

Should we change cont....

I added a poll on the side bar at the top....please mark what you would like to do about changing the swap night. The poll will close next Wednesday. Thanks!

Monday, April 13, 2009

Should we change?

Okay -- so at recipe swap (we missed EVERYONE, by the way!), we were talking about maybe changing the week. Instead of the 2nd Thursday, doing it either the first Thursday or third Thursday of the month.

What does everyone think about switching...? What works best for everyone?

Current
1st Thursday
3rd Thursday

Leave a comment (tanya, I think you can post a poll on the blog...maybe you wanna do that instead?)

Thursday, April 9, 2009

Wednesday, April 8, 2009

Someone pick a place for heck sake ;)

Spring Salad

This salad just screams Spring to me. I know everyone has and makes their favorite salad, but this is one of mine. Mostly because it is an anything goes salad.
I use any pasta I have on hand, olives, cucumbers, cheese, tomatoes, and sometime pepperoni. (This one was made for my son's b-day, so it only has olives and tomatoes). Add zesty italian dressing, and voila...it's done. I love this time of the year,,,,salads, bbq's, flowers, yada yada yada! What's your favorite thing right now?

Websites

Hey guys -- I told Alauna that I'd post a site on here -- it's a blog where she posts free digi scrap stuff every day. I don't download all of it, but she has some good finds that I love. Here's her blog:

Scrapping with Ikea Godess - I just have her on my daily feed reader so whenever she updates, I get the updates on my feed so I never miss a day.

I was browsing around for some brads for my recipe cards next month and stumbled upon this lovely too -- They have a brad for EVERYTHING --- I am SOOO ordering from them.

Eyelet Outlet

I am also curious to know what programs you use for digi scrapping. I have Memory Mixer (but I mostly use Photoshop)- and I know Tanya and Kami use it....what else do you use? I would recommend Memory Mixer for starters -- way easy to use and it comes with a bunch of digi stuff already loaded on it. You can buy other products from their store and you are also able to use 'outside' products (like the stuff you would download from Ikea Godess). They will soon be doing a free 30 day trial for you to see if you like it. I'll let you know when that becomes available. If you use something different let me know.

Alauna - what would you use to digi scrap? If it's a program that I know, I'd be happy to do some tutorials here for everyone...just let me know.
Have a great weekend --Ron and I are off to celebrate our 7th anniversary! YAY! -NO KIDS!

Glittered: Celeste

What has been you most embarrassing moment?
What isn't my most embarrassing moment? I seem to have a lot of them. I used to work as the office manager for TNT Fireworks. Our regional offices were in Tacoma, WA. My boss and I had to travel there for some training on some new software the company was using. (I hadn't worked there very long at this point). We got the airport, and were going through security and I kept setting off the sensor. My boss was standing there waiting for me while I was being frisked by all the security personnel. I was standing there with my arms out and legs spread and they were feeling me up all over -- come to find out, it was the under wire on my bra...I was pretty mortified. You could totally tell that he was uncomfortable too.

What is your favorite game to play as a family?
The kids are still little enough that we get stuck playing candy land a lot, but they are starting to like yahtzee and rummikub

with friends?
we LOVE game nights. Apples to apples, Oodles of Doodles, Would You Rather, Balderdash, Ticket to Ride, Mad Gab, -- anything...we are big game players.

If you have to choose a movie title for your life story, what would that be?
I LOVE the movie Hope Floats and I relate a lot of my life there. I like to think that through everything, I still have a glimmer of hope out there.

What really gives you the creeps?
I am totally freaked out by spiders. There was one on our kitchen counter a few years ago, and I called Ron in hysterics, and crying telling him to come home and kill it. I am also really creeped out by scary stories that are real. Like peeping toms...stuff like that. once, when I was in 9th grade, I was at the high school running around the track (something I liked to do a few times a week). It was a Saturday and there was just me and one other woman. I looked over in the corner and saw some nasty guy with a ski mask jerkin' off in the corner - eww. The woman left and so I did too. I told my dad and he wigged out - we never found him. No wonder I don't run anymore and got fat...sheesh! LOL - now that was creepy!

What is your biggest accomplishment?
This one is kinda hard. I would say my kids, but you never really finish with them so you don't really accomplish them, do you? LOL -- I don't think I really have one -- sorry to disappoint you.

What project are you working on right now? (pic would be great!)

I always have about a million projects going on. On the photography side, I've been finishing my website. www.celestegrover.com. I am also in the process of starting a non-profit organization that offers free photography to people/kids with cancer. In my home, I've been sewing a quilt, decorating, organizing...
I have also been busy doing wedding announcements and graduation announcements.

What is your biggest dream for your future?
I would love to get the non-profit up and running. I've also always wanted to be a teacher, so I'd love to finish school and work as a teacher.

I want to know where you met your husband.
Ron and I met via the world wide web. It's a long story - but once upon a time I was looking for a friend from high school. Someone told me that she was on match.com so I created a profile so I could find her. I never did find her. A few months went by and I had completely forgotten about that profile. I started getting these weird emails from guys that wanted to get to know me and then I remembered - A couple of years later, Ron emailed me and wanted to get to know me. At the time, he did side work as the DJ for the Grizzlies hockey team so he told me to bring a friend and come to the game and we would meet. So I took Jill to the game and we met. I thought he was cute, but I wasn't totally taken over. He was really shy and I was kinda bugged with that. After the game, we went to Applebee's and he and Jill were talking a lot and I thought he was totally into her. But then Jill had to go - so she just left me and him and so I wanted to go home too since I thought he liked her. I told her that if he wanted, I would give him her phone number. He was like "oooh, um, no - that's okay." I thought - 'whatever.' He called me the next day - I was moving to a new place and offered his truck and muscles to help me. I agreed and the rest is history. We didn't spend even one day apart till about a year into our marriage when I had to travel for work.

What's your favorite color?
I love purple and green - but not necessarily together...

How about your favorite dessert?
wow -- this would be a lot easier to answer if it were in a category;
cake: chocolate rum
candy: skittles/m&m's
candy bar: Reese's
pie: key lime, pumpkin, lemon meringue
kids: dirt cups
cookies: chocolate chip, Girl Scout (any kind)
general: strawberry shortcake, apple cobbler
you can't tell that I love dessert (aka: SUGAR), right?

If you had to move out of state where would you want to live?
Wow -- this is tricky. I went to elementary in AZ, so I would love to go back there. I would also love San Diego - close to the beach and perfect temp year round.

Something that drives you crazy?
repetitive noises - like a ticking clock, or tapping sound, especially while I'm trying to sleep. That's enough to drive me to the funny farm! I moved out of an apartment once because the pipes sounded like they were ticking and I couldn't take it!

What got you started in photography?
I got my first camera when I was like 7 or 8. It was the ONLY thing I wanted for Christmas and I was so happy to get it. I used that sucker forever! In high school, I took a photography class and LOVED it. Then I kinda dropped the idea for a while. After the kids were born, I became obsessed again with capturing every little thing they did. I prefer both 'lifestyle' pictures, and I also love a good posed family shot.

Where did you go to high school?
I went to Bingham High School in South Jordan. Loved the Miners. My high school sweetheart/crush played football so I was always stalking him at the Friday night games. he he he

Have you ever lived outside of the state of Utah? If so, where?
I have lived in Arizona and Colorado as a kid. I LOVED AZ - wouldn't mind moving back....

What is your favorite childhood memory?
- WOW -- I tried to block as much of that out as possible...ha ha ha ha! I think it depends on the day for me on what is my favorite memory....like if I'm in a sentimental mood I think about my Grandpa and all the tickle fests we had before he died. Or if I'm in a fun mood, I think about all the slip'n'slide days on the lawn in AZ. I think my fondest memories are just summer playing in the neighborhood - riding bikes - that sort of thing.

What is the craziest thing you've done? (try to beat Brie on that one, I dare you!!)
- I don't think there's beating Brie on that....LOL! I have done LOTS of crazy things - I was the queen of spontaneity in high school. Most of my 'crazy' days consist of draggin' State Street...

What is your favorite way you like to relax?
I love a QUIET house! I love when Ron takes the kids out to give me a break and I can just do what I want. I read, catch up on stuff, nap, whatever. I just love it when it's quiet. I also really enjoy going with friends to get a pedicure. My friends really relax me and I love forgetting about everything and just having fun. Who wants to go get a pedi?? ;)

What is your favorite season and why?
I LOVE fall! The weather is perfect, the colors are gorgeous, school starts, Halloween is my favorite holiday - followed by Thanksgiving. I wish I could have a year-round fall residence.

Random
1. I HAVE to have the toilet paper hanging over the top - I can't stand it being pulled from the bottom.

2. I can't sleep without reading something in bed (book, magazine), Otherwise I just lay in bed for hours. It's a bad habit/addiction

3. I can't stand to wear 'just socks.' I always have to have either shoes on, or bare feet.

4. My all time favorite TV shows are: Lost, Law & Order, CSI, Desperate Housewives

5. I once lost my ring in the water at Lake Powell -- and FOUND IT! It was a miracle!

Questions For Brie

First, I would like to appologize for taking so long to get this done. Life was crazy and is a little less crazy now. I really had a fun time thinking about your questions. Thank you for that!

What do I like to do in my spare time? I love to "craft" make cards is #1, crochet, quilt and get little projects done...

Favorite Childhood memory... my childhood memories are not clear. I know that sounds odd and I guess it is, but it (my childhood) was very unstable... so I would have to say that going to my Grandparents was my favorite memory and still is... the smell of their house and my GM cooking and all the time they spent with me doing fun silly stupid things and looking through all of their old stuff and my mother's stuff. It was great!

A family tradition for us would be to wear a tiara on our birthday (just the girls.. not the husband... but I think we might have to get a pic of that, since they are tomorrow, his and my birthday... hummmm) and make Swedish Pancakes for Christmas morning breakfast...FAVORITE, plus the hubby makes those! hee hee

Let's see... 3 material things I can't live without... this one is the hard one for me! Filtered water (so spoiled!!!), a way to bathe and wash my hair (I know... dumb) and my inhaler because I could actually die from not having that...

OMG! Something I've done but wouldn't tell my kids... I would have to write a book!!! Pretty much 16 to 21 years of age are all full of fun and BAD choices... ugh... ok, pick one. My "I did crazy things with" friend and I were in her Jeep in Phoenix AZ and these guys pulled up behind us and asked if we wanted to go to Mexico and party with them on the beach for the weekend and....WE WENT! It was great fun and they had a beautiful beach house and we ate fresh fish and well... had a great time. THEN on our way back (several hours in her jeep wrangler with no top, I mean... convertible) She sneeks pot in over the border. That scared the bleep out of me! She was crazy and it was SO fun!

Super Power... don't I already have it? I am a MOM... I see all, I hear all and I know all! HA HA ... at least that is what my kids think! I would love to time travel... I have SO MANY questions about things... mostly in my own life, but also about other things.

I had a really good friend in Texas that would scrapbook and she got me started doing that. We would go to retreats and have a girls weekend and that was great fun... getting to know others. Then my neighbor had a stampin up party and that got us hooked on stamping and now I stamp and hardly scrapbook at all. It is terrible!

My favorite season is summer! I LOVE the sun, the smell of sunning lotion and summer fashion!

My last meal would be Surf and Turf! Filet medium rare to rare, lobster tail or crab legs and baked potato fully loaded twice and then a some cheese cake to top it off!

The book on my nightstand is Brsingr by Christopher P.... the 3rd book in the Eragon, Eldest series... trying to get through it, waiting for the action and all the pieces to come together.

Everytime I listen to "the guy who witnesses an accident" I laugh until I cry!

And lastly... 3 things that make me happy... my husband's dick... I mean my husband Rick (this makes me laugh until I cry), a clean house and my children... most of the time. Hope this didn't offend anyone.

Now, let's pick Celeste to be glittered!!

Here is the addicting yummy treat recipe I was telling ya about.

1 batch air popped popcorn
1 1/2 c. cinnamon hearts
3 1/2 c. mini marshmallows
1 1/2 cups of favorite nuts
*combine in large mixing bowl

Topping
1 c. butter
1 1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. karo syrup
*melt and bring to a boil
*simmer 3 minutes and pour over popcorn and mix well

Warning! If you experience symptoms of uncontrolable need to eat half the batch, this is normal. However guilty feelings of over eating may arise, to cure these feelings eat the other half of the batch.

Recipe Swap...

OK...so me and Camie counted everyone up, and we are planning on 14 being there. That might be 1 or 2 too many, but that is what we are counting on. I don't think everyone will be there, but they will be sending their recipes. So I have another question...has anyone been to SubZero Ice Cream before? I don't think it's that big, and I am wondering if they can hold all of us. Does anyone have an opinion on this. If anyone would like to go somewhere different, and you post first then we will go there.
Can't wait to see y'all!!!

I have 2 questions....

First ... where are you Brie? ;-} and
Second.... would everyone be able to do our card/recipe swap on the second Thursday instead of the second Wednesday? I was just called to YW and our night is on Wednesday, and I know Jen's is on Tuesday...so would the second Thursday of each month work?
Please comment and let me know ok?
OH..and I think we decided to do crockpot recipes for February. Who's in for that? (dang, that was 3 questions...sorry :)

Thursday, January 22, 2009

Recipe?

Ummm...I don't think we decided on what 'theme' our recipe's were going to be...or did we? Was it appetizers? or crockpot? Or something totally different? Was I even there last week? HA HA HA!

My HOW WE'VE GROWN!!!

OK...gals...we have 18 glitters now! I know, can you believe it? I think it's rather grand.
So I thought we should do this little "spotlight" thing that I was part of on another site...it's awesome. It helps us to get to know each other just a little bit more.
Here's how it works. I am going to start with someone, let's call it glittering someone, and then everyone comments and asks that person whatever they want to know about that person. Does that make sense......?
So the first gal to be glittered is ... BRIE!!!
So now what happens is everyone comments on this post, asking Brie whatever they want to know about her....(Brie, will you give it a few days before you respond so everyone has a chance to ask you about you)...and then Brie will start a new post answering all of the yummies that we ask her, and then chooses someone else to glitter. I hope this makes sense! It's way fun!
So my questions are,,,,,what is your favorite thing to do in your "spare time", what is your favorite childhood memory, and what family traditions do you and your family have?

OK Glitter Gals...ask away!!!
Oh and BRIE...you can post pics...we would love that!!!
